# Changelog

All notable changes to the Celestia beamer theme are documented in this file.

## [2.0.0] - 2026-10-01

Version 2.0 redraws the default look of the theme: frame titles, blocks,
code boxes, title page, section pages, footers and table of contents. The
palettes keep their colours and `nordic` remains the default palette.
Existing documents compile as before; their rendering changes. These
options give the look closest to version 1.2: `frametitle=subtle,
block=sober, codestyle=bar, titlesize=LargeLARGE, sectiontitlesize=LARGE,
titleweight=bfseries, motif=false`.

### Added
- Frame title style `ruled`, the new default (was `subtle`): the short rule
of `subtle` stays under the title and becomes the head of a hairline that
  runs across the text width.
- Block style `ribbon`, the new default (was `sober`): a 2pt bar in the
block colour along the left edge, the title on a pale band of the same
hue, the text on the page background, with no fill and no frame. The
bands are designed for each palette, all at the same lightness and the
same low chroma, so that several blocks on a slide stay quiet.
- Block style `line`: the bar and the coloured title of `ribbon`, without
  the band.
- Code style `tint`, the new default (was `bar`): the listing sits on a
pale neutral surface, with no bar and no frame. `codebackgroundcolor`
  sets another surface colour.
- Option `motif` (on by default): three concentric discs in three pale
tones, in the bottom right corner of the title page, of the section and
subsection pages and of the `standout` frames. A `titlebackground` image
replaces the motif on the title page.
- Option `titleweight` (`mdseries` by default): weight of the title of the
title page and of the section and subsection titles. `headweight` now
  concerns frame titles only.
- Subsection pages: `\subsectionpage`, and the `subsectionpage` option to
insert one at the start of every subsection. The name of the section is
recalled in spaced capitals above the subsection title.
- `\titlegraphic` is shown on the title page: top right, or above the
  subject line with `titlealign=center`.
- Components: `\source{...}` (a source line above the footer), the `quote`
frame option (a full-page quotation on a tinted background),
  `\imagepage[caption]{file}` (a full-page image),
`\keyfigure{number}{label}` and `\tablehead{...}`. The four commands
give way to a command of the same name defined by the document. Table
rules take a softened tint of the main colour (`colortbl` is loaded).
- Presets `style=celestia` (the default look, by name) and `style=stage`
(dark `midnight` palette and larger frame titles, for talks).

### Changed
- Palettes: the theme now presents seven palettes (`nordic`, `palatial`,
  `petrol`, `terracotta`, `velvet`, and the dark `midnight` and `dusk`),
kept for their legibility and because no two of them look alike. The
fifteen other palettes of versions 1.x are still accepted and keep their
colours, so that existing presentations and the presets that use them do
not change; they are no longer documented.
- Presets: the theme now presents six presets (`celestia`, `modern`,
  `signature`, `executive`, `sober`, `stage`). The eight others of versions
  1.x (`minimal`, `studio`, `academic`, `design`, `simple`, `editorial`,
  `lumiere`, `chalk`) are still accepted, with their settings and colours;
  they are no longer documented.
- Title page: the title is large and light (`titlesize=Huge`, was
`LargeLARGE`, in the weight of the text); the subject is set in spaced
capitals at `footnotesize`; a hairline with a short head in the
decoration colour separates the title from the author, the institute and
the date, and is drawn only when one of them is given (the 3em rule is
gone); an empty institute or date takes no space.
- Section pages: the title is large and light (`sectiontitlesize=huge`, was
`LARGE`), on a tinted page, aligned according to `titlealign`, under the
short title of the presentation in spaced capitals. With `sectionnumber`,
the number stands before the title on the same line; the circled number
and the fading rule are gone.
- The title page and the section pages are centred on the page whatever
the frame alignment: documents using the `t` class option left them in
  the upper third.
- Frame titles: the text starts on the left margin and wraps at the right
margin in the ten styles; `clean` puts its bar on the margin and `cosmic`
its diamond on the right margin. `plainrule` draws a plain hairline
  across the text width, without fading; `gradient` is a flat pale band;
`leftbar` is 0.2cm wide instead of 0.4cm. Frame subtitles stay dimmer
than the title on dark palettes.
- Frame titles keep the same baseline on every slide. The title line had
no fixed height: an accented capital pushed the title, its rule and the
content about 2pt down, and a descender made the bands of the `elegant`,
  `gradient`, `leftbar`, `clean` and `plain` styles thicker.
- Blocks: the filled styles share one pale, near-neutral background
designed for each palette, and a warm one for alert blocks, instead of
one tinted surface per block colour. The colour of a block shows in its
title, its bar or its band. `sober` and `soft` hold their title inside
the tinted surface, `bar` no longer uses a boxed title, `shaded` and
`fullbar` set their title on a slightly stronger band. A custom palette
derives the same backgrounds from its colours.
- `shadedblockopacity`, `soberblockopacity`, `softblockopacity` and
`barblockopacity`, when given another value than their default, restore
the 1.x background of their style: the block colour mixed with the page
  background.
- `remark` and `remarks` are set in the text colour; `method`, `activity`,
`application` and their plurals in the accent colour. The alert colour is
  reserved for `alertblock`.
- Block titles have a fixed height and depth: a title with a descender or
parentheses no longer makes its block about 2pt taller. Named theorems
read "Theorem 1 (Name)" with a single space before the parenthesis. A
block with an empty title (`\begin{block}{}`) shows no empty title band.
The title bands of the `plain` blocks are roomier, and the title of the
`noback` blocks sits further from its body.
- Native blocks (`block=native`, `native-shadow`, `native-default`):
theorem names follow `language`, bodies are upright, `[title=...]` is
accepted, remarks, methods, activities and applications are plain blocks
instead of alert blocks, and an untitled block of `native-default` has no
  empty title band.
- Footers: `info`, `minimalist` and `badge` sit on the text margins; `info`
separates author and title with a middle dot and `prestige` its three
entries with middle dots; `ruled` and `boxedruled` draw one hairline
across the text width; `boxed` and `boxedruled` set the slide number in a
pale tag and the other entries as plain text; the `badge` tag is flatter.
The slide number reads "12 / 40" in every style except `minimalist`. The
progress bar is 1.5pt thick instead of 2pt.
- Table of contents: section numbers sit in a column of fixed width, so
  that the titles line up; numbers and titles take the full text colour;
the sections are no longer spread over the height of the frame, and the
space between them shrinks when the list is long.
- Numbered lists use plain bold numerals in the decoration colour instead
of white numerals in filled discs; `a.` and `i.` at the next levels. The
`quiz` answers are aligned with the text of the other lists.
- Formulas are set in Inter, the text font, by default (`mathface=inter`):
letters, digits and Greek letters take the weight of the text, with
pdfLaTeX, LuaLaTeX and XeLaTeX alike. The other symbols remain those of
Computer Modern, and `\nu` too, since the Inter nu cannot be told from a
`v`. The previous default, Iwona, is still available with
`mathface=iwona`; the theme falls back to it with `allserif`, with a
sans-serif font other than Inter, or when the Type 1 fonts of the `inter`
  package are not installed.
- With pdfLaTeX, `semibold` (on by default) is passed to the `inter`
package, so that bold text and titles are set in Inter SemiBold, as with
  LuaLaTeX and XeLaTeX.
- Dark palettes (`dusk`, `midnight`, `obsidian`, `velours`) set the text in
the regular weight unless `light` is given.
- Internal links take the colour of the surrounding text; `urlcolor` is
  unchanged.
- Presets: `editorial` sets its titles in the serif face; `chalk` no longer
raises the opacity of its `bar` blocks.

### Fixed
- With XeLaTeX, the text was set in Inter Regular, without the light and
semibold weights, when only a variable Inter was found by name. The
static fonts of the TeX distribution are now loaded by file name.
- `gradient` frame title: the band, as wide as the page, produced an
  overfull box on every frame.
- With `block=native`, the theme stopped on "Command \application already
defined" when the document already defined a command named like one of
  its environments (`property`, `remark`, `method`, `application`...). The
environment of the theme now takes over, as with the other block styles.
- The starred theorem environments (`remark*`, `property*`...) left an
empty group at the start of their body.

## [1.2.10] - 2026-09-20

### Fixed
- `custompalette` and the six colour options (`maincolor`, `accentcolor`,
  `backgroundcolor`, `blockcolor`, `examplecolor`, `alertcolor`) had no
effect: the named palette (`nordic` by default) was applied again after
the options were read and overwrote them. Explicit colours now take
precedence over `custompalette`, which takes precedence over the palette.
- With the dark palettes (`dusk`, `midnight`, `obsidian`, `velours`), the
default `sober` blocks and the `soft` blocks were unreadable: their tint
was mixed with white instead of the slide background, which gave
near-white boxes under light text. The named colours `blockbackground`,
`examplebackground` and `alertbackground` had the same defect.
- The borders of the `frame`, `macos` and `box` code styles were mixed with
white, a bright outline on dark palettes; they now blend with the
  background.
- `\cverb` failed with "Couldn't load requested style" (the `latex`
listings style was never defined) and could not receive LaTeX commands.
It is now a verbatim command, used like `\verb` in a `fragile` frame:
  `\cverb|\usetheme{Celestia}|`, also with `codehandler=minted`.
- Documented options that had no effect now work: `headshape` (`sc`, `it`),
`sectiontitlesize`, `subtitlesize` (its default is `large`, as the
subtitle was actually set, not `Large` as documented), `footertextsize`
(ignored by the default `info` footer and overridden by `\tiny` in the
  `classic` and `fullbar` footers), `shownavigation` (the navigation
symbols now appear above the footer, on the right), `nocodeframe`
(removes the border of the `frame`, `macos` and `box` code styles) and
  `twocoltoc` (`\tableofcontents` is now set in two columns, as documented;
`\twocolumntoc` still chooses the split by hand).
- The third-level itemize diamond is drawn with TikZ: the `\diamond` glyph
is missing from several maths fonts (`libertinus`, `fira`), which left the
  bullet blank.

### Changed
- Palette colours: lightness-only corrections, hue and saturation kept, so
that block, example and alert colours reach a 4.5:1 contrast against the
background and against the tinted block title bands (3:1 for the pastel
palettes `chalk` and `sakura`, to keep their character). Eighteen
palettes are affected, most of them imperceptibly; the four dark
  palettes get lighter block colours.
- The saturated accents of `petrol`, `imperial` and `mineral` are toned
down (same hue, about half the saturation): the gold of `petrol` became
brass, and the accents of `imperial` and `mineral` no longer merge with
  their alert colour.
- On the title page, the title and the subtitle were justified with the
default left alignment: a long title stretched its word spaces and was
hyphenated. They are now set ragged, and hyphenation is forbidden, in
  every style and every alignment.
- Four aesthetic refinements: the footer text takes a tint of the palette
instead of a neutral grey (its contrast rises from 1.7:1 to 4:1, while
staying lighter than the body text, and the separators stay pale); the
block titles drop the dash before the parentheses ("Definition 1 (Name)"
instead of "Definition 1 -- (Name)"); the nested enumerate labels belong
to one family (a hollow circle at the second level instead of a square
that looked like a checkbox, a plain numeral at the third level instead
of a 6pt digit inside a small disc); the rule of the section pages fades
on both sides, so that it sits centred under a centred title.
- The project home page moved from https://apps.edulatex.xyz to
https://edulatex.xyz (package header, README, manuals, demos).

## [1.2.9] - 2026-09-14

### Fixed
- With the `iwona` and `kurier` math faces, `\|`, `\Vert`, `\lVert`,
`\rVert`, `\Arrowvert` and `\parallel` printed nothing: these fonts have
no double-bar glyph. The symbol is now taken from the Computer Modern
symbol font, so vector norms display their bars again.
- The `clean` frame title style drew its vertical bar with a page overlay,
so it was misplaced (through the title text) until the second
compilation. The bar is now set from the measured title block and appears
at the right place on the first run, with an identical rendering.

## [1.2.8] - 2026-08-30

### Fixed
- Passing `standout` in the theme options crashed every document with
`Extra \endgroup` at the end of the first frame: it raised the
frame-level flag whose matching `\begingroup` is only opened by the
`standout` frame option. `standout` is a frame option only.

## [1.2.7] - 2026-08-28

### Added
- New named colors `blockbackground`, `examplebackground` and
`alertbackground`: the exact interior background of the three block
families, computed from the active block style (and its opacity options)

### Fixed
- `mathfaceoptions` is applied again for the unicode-math faces (`pagella`,
  `termes`, `stix`, `libertinus`, `fira` and custom font names):
unicode-math's `\setmathfont` does not expand macros in its options
argument and silently dropped the whole list; the theme now expands the
  options before the call.
- The `Scale=MatchLowercase` default is restored for the unicode-math
faces. Since 1.2.2 the `Ligatures=TeX` declaration used
`\defaultfontfeatures`, which replaces the default feature set and wiped
the `Scale=MatchLowercase` declared earlier, so math fonts loaded after
it came out unscaled; it now uses `\defaultfontfeatures+` and appends.

## [1.2.6] - 2026-08-23

### Fixed
- Math digits, operators, delimiters, punctuation, capital Greek and math
accents now use the selected math face (`mathface=iwona` by default, also
`kurier`) under LuaLaTeX/XeLaTeX instead of Computer Modern, and `\mathrm`
no longer silently falls back to the serif text font. Cause: at
`\begin{document}` fontspec runs its own maths setup, re-pointing those
symbols to an internal OT1/cmr `legacymaths` font and re-declaring
`operators`, which overrode the theme's preamble configuration. Fix, in
three layers: (1) the theme now passes fontspec its documented `no-math`
option when `mathface` is `iwona` or `kurier`, so fontspec leaves maths
alone at the source; (2) the iwona/kurier setup is deferred to
`\AtBeginDocument` and re-points `legacymaths` when it exists, which keeps
the fix effective even when the user loads fontspec before the theme
(where `no-math` cannot take effect); (3) `\mathtt` is mapped explicitly
to the document monospaced font on every engine, preserving its previous
rendering under LuaLaTeX/XeLaTeX (which `no-math` alone would have
reverted to cmtt) and replacing the historical cmtt fallback under
pdfLaTeX, so all three engines now produce the same math font set. The
rest of the pdfLaTeX output is unchanged (it was already correct), and
the other `mathface` values are unaffected.

## [1.2.5] - 2026-07-15

### Fixed
- Figure captions are centered again. The global `\captionsetup` forced
`justification=raggedright` with `singlelinecheck=false`, which left every
caption flush left even when it fit on a single line; it now uses
  `justification=centering`. The `lstlisting`/`listing` code-caption headers
  keep their left alignment.
- Italic text (`\emph`, `\textit`) renders in a true italic under
LuaLaTeX/XeLaTeX again. When the theme forces `UprightFont={Inter Light}`
(the default `light`/`semibold` combination) fontspec stopped auto-detecting
the italic face and fell back to the upright shape; the `Inter Light Italic`
and `Inter SemiBold Italic` faces are now declared explicitly on those
  branches.

## [1.2.4] - 2026-05-25

### Added
- Conditional handling of the `clean` frametitle: the left vertical bar now
follows the value of `frametitlepadding` horizontally when provided.

### Changed
- Visual tuning of the `clean`, `plainrule` and `subtle` frametitle templates
(better default vertical spacing, tighter coupling between subtitle and the
decorative rule, scope-safe coordinate handling for the `clean` bar).

## [1.2.3] - 2026-05-15

### Added
- Support for Beamer overlay specifications (`<2->`, `<3->`, etc.) on the
  theorem-like environments (`definition`, `theorem`, `example`, `remark`,
  `property`, …). Standard Beamer syntax:
  `\begin{definition}<2->[title=…] … \end{definition}`.
- New `frametitlepadding=<dim>` and `frametitlebottomskip=<dim>` options to
fine-tune the height of the frame title for every frametitle style.
- Documentation: dedicated section listing the named colors exposed globally
by the theme and usable directly in TikZ (`background`, `main`, `accent`,
  `blockcolor`, `examplecolor`, `alertcolor`, `emphasis`, `decoration`).

### Fixed
- Numbering of theorem-like environments no longer increments at every
overlay of the same frame (`\resetcounteronoverlays` is now applied to
every counter created by the theme). Applies both to the new `<2->`
  syntax and to plain `\pause`.

## [1.2.2] - 2026-03-21

### Changed
- The `light` option now also applies to the monospaced font and to a
user-supplied sans face: under LuaLaTeX/XeLaTeX the theme appends
  `UprightFeatures={Weight=300}` to `sansfaceoptions` and
`monofaceoptions`, so variable fonts render in a light weight too.

### Fixed
- Loading of the Inter static styles is now guarded with
  `\IfFontExistsTF`: `Inter Light` and `Inter SemiBold` are only requested
when actually installed, instead of aborting the compilation on systems
that ship only the base Inter family.
- Standard TeX ligatures (`--`, `---`, quote substitution) are declared as
a default font feature under LuaLaTeX/XeLaTeX
  (`\defaultfontfeatures{Ligatures=TeX}`).

## [1.2.1] - 2026-03-15

### Changed
- New out-of-the-box look: the default palette is `nordic` (was
`lumiere`), the default block style `sober` (was `fullbar`), the default
footer `info` (was `prestige`) and the default frame title `subtle` (was
  `plainrule`).
- Flatter rendering: theorem-like environments and the `box`, `macos` and
`bar` code styles no longer carry a drop shadow (`no shadow` replaces
  `drop fuzzy shadow`).
- The `info` footer uses slightly wider side margins (2 em instead of
1.5 em) for the author/title group and the frame counter.

## [1.2.0] - 2026-02-22

### Added
- `style=<name>` option with twelve preset styles (`academic`, `chalk`,
  `design`, `editorial`, `executive`, `lumiere`, `minimal`, `modern`,
  `signature`, `simple`, `sober`, `studio`), each bundling a palette, a
frame title style, a footer style and a block style. Replaces the
  `scheme` option of 1.1.x.
- New footer designs for `footerstyle`: `prestige` (default), `info`,
  `badge`, `classic`, `cosmic`, `minimalist`, `ruled`, `framed`, `boxed`
  and `boxedruled`, alongside `fullbar` and `fraction`. The 1.1.x values
  `default`, `quartercircle`, `number` and `shadedfullbar` are gone.
- New frame title styles: `plainrule` (default), `clean`, `subtle`,
  `line`, `leftbar`, `gradient` and `cosmic`, alongside `elegant` and
  `plain`; `centered`, `plaincentered` and `shaded` are gone.
- Single `block=<style>` option selecting the block design: `fullbar`
  (default), `bar`, `sober`, `soft`, `shaded`, `noback`, `plain`,
  `native`, `native-shadow`, `native-default`. Replaces the `soberblock`,
  `softblock`, `shadedblock` and `nobackblock` keys. New
  `barblockopacity` option (default `0.05`).
- `codestyle=<name>` option for code blocks: `bar` (default), `frame`,
`box` and `macos` (window frame with traffic-light dots). The
`nocodebox` option is removed (`codebox` remains).
- `progressbar` option: progress bar at the bottom of every slide,
natively integrated in the `info` and `minimalist` footers, overlaid on
the page for the other styles.
- `emphasis` and `decoration` options choosing which palette color
  (`main` or `accent`) drives headings/items and rules/ornaments.
- Extended family of theorem-like environments: `property`, `properties`,
  `definitions`, `examples`, `remarks`, `method`, `activity`,
  `activities`, `application` and `applications` join `theorem`, `lemma`,
  `proposition`, `corollary`, `definition`, `example` and `remark`.
Titles follow the `language` option (English/French); with a
`block=native…` style they degrade to standard Beamer blocks.
- `quiz` environment with a `\correct` item command for multiple-choice
questions; correct answers are highlighted on the second overlay.
- `\cverb` command for the styled inline verbatim.
- `mathface` and `mathfaceoptions` options; the math setup defaults to
  the Iwona font.
- `semibold` and `light` options (both enabled by default): bold text
maps to a semibold weight and the sans body face to Inter Light.
- Half-step size commands (`\largeLarge`, `\LargeLARGE`, `\LARGEhuge`, …)
usable in the size options; new `footertextsize` (default `tiny`) and
  `blocktitleweight` (default `bfseries`) options.
- `\twocolumntoc` command for a two-column table of contents; the
corresponding option is renamed from `twocolumntoc` to `twocoltoc`.
- `\subject` now stores its argument (exposed as `\insertsubject`) in
addition to setting the PDF subject metadata.

### Changed
- Palette collection rebuilt around 22 palettes: `chalk`, `dusk`,
  `horizon`, `imperial`, `lumiere`, `manuscript`, `mineral`, `obsidian`,
  `oxford`, `palatial`, `petrol`, `prestige`, `sapphire`, `steel`,
  `terracotta`, `velours` and `velvet` are new; `copper`, `midnight`,
`nordic`, `royal` and `sakura` are kept; the other 1.1.x palettes are
removed. The default palette is `lumiere`.
- Font setup rebuilt: `mainface` is renamed `serifface`; the default
monospaced font is IBM Plex Mono (`plex-mono`, was Roboto Mono); the
same defaults apply to pdfLaTeX through the `inter`, `literata` and
`plex-mono` packages; missing fonts fall back to TeX Gyre faces with a
warning; the theme now uses `\usefonttheme{professionalfonts}`.
- Default `titlealign` is now `left` (was `center`); default sizes
  retuned (`titlesize=LargeLARGE`, `frametitlesize=normalsize`).
- The TikZ background decoration system is removed (`decorative`,
  `nodecorative`, `decorationstyle` and `decorationopacity` options).
- The theme no longer overrides `\verb`, `\texttt` and
`\lstinputlisting`; use `\cverb` for the themed inline verbatim.
- Code listing captions are labeled "Programme" in French documents.

## [1.1.1] - 2025-11-02

### Fixed
- `tikz`, `tcolorbox` and `multicol` are now loaded unconditionally.
Previously `tikz` was only loaded when decorations were enabled and
`tcolorbox` only with `codebox`, so option combinations such as
`decorationstyle=none` with `nocodebox` failed with undefined control
sequences (the theorem environments and several templates rely on
  them).
- XeLaTeX now loads the packaged `sourceserifpro`, `sourcesanspro` and
  `roboto-mono` fonts, as pdfLaTeX does, instead of probing system fonts;
the previous probing code could wrongly replace the main font when the
sans fallback was triggered (`\setmainfont` instead of
  `\setsansfont`).

## [1.1.0] - 2025-11-02

### Added
- Color palette system: 28 predefined palettes selectable with
  `palette=<name>` (`amber`, `coral`, `emerald`, `lavender`, `midnight`,
  `modern`, `nordic`, `ocean`, `sunset`, `twilight`, …; default
  `midnight`), plus `custompalette={main,accent,block,example,alert,
background}` to define all six colors at once.
- `scheme=<name>` presets (`light`, `academic`, `creative`, `zen`,
`simple`) configuring decoration style, footer, frame title and block
style in one option; explicitly passed options keep priority.
- `footerstyle=<name>` option replacing the `nofooter`,
  `quartercirclefooter` and `fullbarfooter` booleans; values `default`,
  `quartercircle`, `fullbar` and the new `shadedfullbar`, `number` and
  `fraction` designs.
- `titlealign=left|center|right` option (default `center`) replacing the
  `centeredtitle` and `titleright` booleans.
- `titlebackground=<file>` option: full-page image behind the title page
  (rendered at 15 % opacity).
- Configurable decorations: `decorationstyle=none|sober|fancy|minimal`
  (default `none`) and `decorationopacity=<0-1>` (default `0.2`).
- New block styles `shadedblock` and `nobackblock` alongside `soberblock`
and `softblock`, a `defaultblock` key to restore the standard style,
  and per-style opacity options `shadedblockopacity` (default `0.35`),
  `soberblockopacity` and `softblockopacity` (default `0.18`).
- `sectionpage` (default `true`) and `sectionnumber` (default `false`)
options controlling automatic section pages and section numbering.
- `codehandler=listings|minted` option: source code can now be handled by
`minted`, framed in the same `tcolorbox` decor as `listings`.
- Theorem-like environments rebuilt on `tcolorbox`: `theorem`, `lemma`,
  `proposition`, `corollary`, `definition`, `example` and `remark`, with
automatic numbering, translated titles and a key-value interface
(`title=`, `label=`, plus any tcolorbox key such as `colback` or
  `colframe`).
- Size options `titlesize`, `frametitlesize`, `sectiontitlesize` and
  `subtitlesize` (defaults `Large`, `large`, `LARGE`, `Large`).
- New `shaded` frame title style (title on a shaded colored background).
- `\verb` is redefined as a styled inline verbatim (colored,
  `listings`-based).

### Changed
- Default colors now come from the `midnight` palette (`maincolor`
  `0A1F3C`, `accentcolor` `B38600`, …) instead of fixed option defaults;
the individual color options still override the palette.
- The theme no longer redefines `\alert`; Beamer's standard alerted-text
  handling applies.

## [1.0.7] - 2025-10-18

### Changed
- Blocks (`block`, `exampleblock`, `alertblock`) now get 0.5 em of
vertical space before and after, and the default block style no longer
  uses Beamer's rounded corners.
- The decorative rule on the title page is thinner (0.5 pt whatever the
`headweight`) and shorter for left-aligned layouts (35 % of the line
  width instead of 95 %).

### Fixed
- The vertical spacing below the frame title (all four styles) now
handles the `nofooter` case on its own instead of only inside
`quartercirclefooter`, fixing the title height when footers are
  disabled.

## [1.0.6] - 2025-09-13

### Changed
- Maintenance release: the default `maincolor` is darkened from `2C3E50`
  to `1e293b`.

## [1.0.5] - 2025-08-31

### Changed
- The block color options are renamed: `mainblue`, `maingreen` and
  `mainred` become `blockcolor` (default `1A3B52`), `examplecolor`
(default `1A5228`) and `alertcolor` (default `52281A`); the internal
color names used by `\mathterm`, `\mathdef` and the URL color follow.
- Default `maincolor` changed from `045549` to `2C3E50`.
- The `unicolor` option now covers the whole theme: subtitle, institute
and date on the title page, every block style (default, `soberblock`,
`softblock`) and the standout blocks all derive from `main` when it is
set. The `\setblockopacity` helper is removed.

### Fixed
- A typo (`\celestia@headwight`) prevented the `headweight` option from
being honored when drawing the title-page rule; the rule now matches
the chosen weight and its color follows `unicolor`.

## [1.0.4] - 2025-07-20

### Fixed
- In the footline templates, the short title (a hyperlink to the title
page) is printed in the footer text color instead of the hyperlink
  color (`\hypersetup{linkcolor=.}`).

## [1.0.3] - 2025-07-01

### Added
- `boldurl` option: URLs are typeset in bold (`\UrlFont`).

### Changed
- Colored table of contents: section entries (number and title) use
`main`, subsection entries use the accent color, with matching
  hyperlink colors.
- Section pages now display the title `\LARGE` in `main`; subsection
pages display the subsection title `\Large` in the accent color.
- `colorlinks=true` is set explicitly in `\hypersetup`.
- pdfLaTeX: Roboto Mono is loaded scaled to 0.9 to better match the text
  fonts.

## [1.0.2] - 2025-06-10

### Added
- `shownavigation` option: Beamer's navigation symbols (hidden by
default) can be displayed, recolored to match the theme and integrated
into every footer style, including a dedicated `plain with nav`
footline for plain frames when footers are disabled.
- Themed `button` and `button border` colors (switched to the accent
  color on standout frames).

### Changed
- Section pages: the decorative background is rebuilt with randomly
placed shaded spheres and stars around a central sphere, replacing the
fixed circles; the halo behind the section title is retuned.
- The decorative circles of the title page now use the `main` color
  instead of `accent`.

## [1.0.1] - 2025-05-24

### Added
- `language=<name>` option (default `english`) passed to `babel`, which
is now only loaded when the document has not loaded it already (it was
previously required unconditionally and without options).
- XeLaTeX support: fonts are configured through `fontspec` as with
  LuaLaTeX.
- Additional font fallbacks: when Source Serif Pro, Source Sans Pro or
Source Code Pro are not installed, TeX Gyre Termes, TeX Gyre Heros or
Latin Modern Mono are used instead of failing.
- Bibliography styling: dedicated colors for bibliography entries
(author, title, location, note), and with `biblatex` the bibliography
heading now sets a frame title.

## [1.0.0] - 2025-01-08

Initial release.

- Modern Beamer theme for academic and professional presentations, with a
  configurable color system (`maincolor`, `accentcolor`, `mainblue`,
  `maingreen`, `mainred`, `backgroundcolor`) and font options
(`mainface`, `sansface`, `monoface`; Literata, Inter and Roboto Mono by
  default) for LuaLaTeX and pdfLaTeX.
- Four frame title styles (`elegant`, `centered`, `plain`,
  `plaincentered`), footer variants (`quartercirclefooter`,
`fullbarfooter`, `nofooter`), standout frames and decorative title and
  section pages.
- Block styles (`soberblock`, `softblock`), `tcolorbox`-framed code
listings, compact and two-column table of contents options.
